Welcome to Parliamentary Committees Consultations

Select How to Participate

On February 18, 2020, the Legislative Assembly agreed that a Special Committee be appointed to undertake a review of the Personal Information Protection Act pursuant to section 59 of that Act. The Act governs how private sector organizations collect, use and disclose personal information and gives individuals the right to access their own personal information. The Special Committee must submit a report, including any recommendations, to the Legislative Assembly within one year.

The Special Committee to Review the Personal Information Protection Act is holding a public consultation on how the Act is working. Friday, August 14, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. is the deadline for interested individuals or organizations to make a written, audio or video submission. Prior to making a submission, please review the Parliamentary Committees Privacy Policy.

Registration for the public hearings is now closed. Proceedings of parliamentary committees are streamed live on our website. Please see the Special Committee's Meeting Calendar for a list of meeting times and dates.
